The project will enhance safety for pedestrian and bicyclists by installing an uncontrolled mid block pedestrian crosswalk on Paseo Del Norte in the vicinity of Tip-Top Meat Eatery and Motel 6, reducing the number of lanes on Paseo Del Norte from four to two lanes and widening existing bike lanes with new bike buffers between Palomar Airport Road and Sea Gate Road/Camino Del Parque. The City of Carlsbad (City) is requesting proposals from qualified engineering firms for the Paseo Del Norte Pedestrian and Bike Improvements Project, Capital Improvement Project (CIP) Project No. 6070. The engineering firm to be awarded the contract shall be known as the "Consultant" and shall be retained through the completion of the project, including any contract time extensions. The Consultant shall provide one lead individual who shall assume overall responsibility for project management and design services, and who shall be available to report directly to the City's Project Manager for this project.
