The voters within the Midland Independent School District (hereinafter known as District, MISD, or Owner) has approved a Bond Program for the construction of new facilities and renovation of existing facilities across the district (hereinafter known as the Program.) The District is soliciting Statements of Qualifications for Geotechnical Services as stated in this Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") for the Program. The District anticipates selecting a pool of geotechnical consultants from this solicitation that may be utilized for one or more of the Program's projects. The District is only seeking professional services firms (Texas Government Code Sec. 2254) that can provide the required services as a sole source. : The selected consultant(s) will be required to perform basic geotechnical services, the scope of work to be specified on a project-by-project basis in the contract to be negotiated after selection. The District intends to use the attached sample Agreement between Owner and Consultant shown in Exhibit A. MISD reserves the right to approve proposed sub-consultants, if any, who will be associated with the selected geotechnical engineer. The services of geotechnical engineers, may include, but shall not be limited to, test borings, test pits, determinations of soil bearing values, foundation system recommendations, percolation tests, evaluations of hazardous materials, seismic evaluation, ground corrosion test and resistivity tests, including necessary operations for anticipating subsoil conditions, with written reports and appropriate recommendations. The exact scope of work will be determined on a project-by-project basis. The Owner reserves the right to conduct all research it deems necessary as part of its evaluation of respondents including their proposed subcontractors (if any), and contacting previous clients.
