Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in John Day, Oregon. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.

Strong Contracting has been awarded for dirt work only. The rest of this project will be rebid around Fall of 2025 per Elisa Molyneux after they apply for another round of grants. First Tier Subcontractor Disclosure Forms will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. local time on January 23, 2024. The bids will be publicly opened and read at the John Day Fire Hall, 316 S Canyon Blvd, John Day, OR,97845, at 3:00 p.m. local time on January 23, 2024. The District may reject any bid not in compliance with all prescribed public bidding procedures and requirements, and may reject for good cause any or all bids upon a finding of the District that it is in the public interest to do so. The bidder must be registered with the Construction Contractors Board. Estimated Cost Range: $250,000 to $300,000 This project, in general, is constructing a 72'x36' bus storage building along with parking lot grading, drainage, paving. The project bid will consist of, but may not be limited to, the following unit cost items: Mobilization, Lump Sum; Site Preparation/Grading: Lump Sum (Approx 10,000 Sq. Ft.) Remove top portion of Existing Retaining Wall and Existing concrete slab: Lump Sum Pavement Sawcuts: 210 Lin Foot Pavement Removal: 3080 Sq. Ft. 6" Ductile Iron Storm Drain Pipe; 100 Lin. Feet 4" Ductile Iron Storm Drain Pipe: 40 Lin. Feet 4" PVC Sanitary Sewer Pipe: 65 Lin. Feet Make connection to City Sewer Main: Lump Sum Make connection to City Water Service (requires 3/4" meter): Lump Sum Storm Drain Catch Basins: 2 each 3/4"-0 Aggregate Base (Nom. 6" thickness): 280 Tons Asphalt Concrete (Nom. 3" thickness): 145 Tons Construct 72'x36'Vehicle Storage Building: Lump Sum This is a Grant County Transportation District/The People Mover Project by and through the Grant County Transportation District, funded through a Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund (STIF) Discretionary Grant, and is subject to the current Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) Prevailing Wage Rates. The District will award the contract at their board meeting scheduled for February 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the John Day Fire Hall. The contractor will not be required to have an asbestos abatement license under ORS 468A.720.
