Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Mentone, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Roadway Improvements that consists of the following improvements: The resurfacing of approximately 8,110 square yards of roadway, the reconstruction of approximately 1643 square yards of roadway, the installation of 183 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter storm sewer, the installation of four 30-inch diameter catch basins, the removal and replacement of 225 square feet of sidewalk ramps, and incidental items associated with the work. The work to be performed and the proposals to be submitted, including any and all separate and combination proposals, shall include sufficient and proper sums for all General, Construction, Installation, Labor, Materials, Tools, Equipment, Taxes (both Federal and State), Permits, Licenses, Insurance, Service Costs, and so forth, incident to and required for the construction of the facilities. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a Certified Check or acceptable Bidder's Bond made payable to the Owner, in a sum of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the highest aggregate proposal, which check or bond will be held by the Owner as evidence that the Bidder will, if awarded a contract or contracts, enter into the same with the Owner upon notification to do so within fifteen (15) days of said notification. Approved performance and payment bonds guaranteeing faithful and proper performance of the work and materials, to be executed by an acceptable surety company, will be required of the Contractor at the time of contract execution. The bonds shall be in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price and must be in full force and effect through out the term of the Construction Contract plus a period of twelve (12) months from the date of substantial completion. Liquidated damages in the amount of One Thousand Dollars($1,000) per day of delayed or unsatisfactory completion of the Contract, beyond the agreed upon completion date, shall be paid by the Contractor to the Owner pursuant to the terms and conditions of the written contract ultimately entered into by the successful bidder and Owner. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or minor defects in bids or bidding procedure, or reject any and all bids, or to accept any bid as may be lowest most responsible and responsive as exclusively determined by the Owner. Any bid maybe withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. No bidder may withdraw a bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
