Renovation of a municipal facility in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The purpose of this document is to provide general and specific information for the Turnkey renovation of four restrooms in the Henderson County Finance Department, 113 North Main Street Hendersonville, NC 28792 It is the intent of these specifications to set up minimum requirements for the Turnkey Renovation of four restrooms in the Henderson County Finance Department as specified. These specifications must be considered as minimum requirements. If it is necessary to bid alternate equipment or to take exceptions to the specifications as set forth, this must be so stated in your bid. Any reference to a model or brand is only to denote quality and does not mean that equal equipment will not be considered. Specifications 1. All demolition work shall be done after business hours (Monday - Friday, 6 PM - 7 AM) and/or weekends. Tile and fixtures may be installed during regular business hours providing tile is cut outside of the building and out of the path of pedestrian entrances. 2. Construction dumpster(s) shall be placed in the rear parking lot ONLY for construction debris. 3. Shower in Men's room is to remain, and tile will be finished to it. 4. All plumbing stops and traps are to be replaced and are not to be reused. 5. Toilet paper and paper towel dispensers will be furnished by Henderson County but shall be installed by the contractor to ensure compatibility with County paper supplies. 6. All recessed mirrors, soap dispensers, and trash receptacles are to be removed, holes patched and tiled over or drywalled over if above the tile level. 7. Interior Women's restroom drywall will be removed in order to tile entire perimeter of restroom. Mirror is to be saved and rehung on back of door once tile is completed. 8. Tile will be installed on walls to same height as existing tile and transitioned using a Schluter, L angle edge trim. 9. Transition of entry into restrooms should be ground down to a workable slope and transitioned with a standard Hollywood bevel cultured marble threshold. 10. All grab bars may be reused unless deemed otherwise by Facility Services and thus will provide new grab bars to be installed by awarded contractor. 11. Drywall surfaces need to be finished, sanded and prepped for painting. 12. All touch up painting will be done by Facility Services at time of completion. 13. Construction areas shall be cleaned daily as to not impact regular day to day business. 14. Restrooms to be completed 2 at a time to ensure restroom availability for staff. 15. If access to water/sewer lines is required, you must make arrangements with Facility Services staff as they are located in a different County Department on a lower floor. III. Installation 1. The bidder shall provide a turnkey project inclusive of all labor, materials, supervision, disposal fees, permits, inspections, taxes as applicable. 2. Install all materials and equipment in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and warranty requirements. 3. Contractor must submit a timeline for the beginning and completion of the project. 4. The contractor is to obtain and pay for all required permits and inspections as applicable. Any deficiencies found in the installation or materials used in the installation which prevents receiving a green tag from inspectors or issues found during the final walkthrough with County representatives will be the Contractors responsibility and expense to correct. 5. Cleanup of all affected work areas shall be completed daily. IV.Warranty 1. The installation services and materials furnished by the contractor, or any subcontractors shall be free from any defects in workmanship for a period of one year from the date of final payment. V. Acceptance of Work 1. Bidder shall perform a final walk through with a County representative upon completion. 2. Henderson County shall receive all inspections, certifications, and permits required by local and State agencies as applicable. Henderson County is to receive written copies of all. 3. Henderson County shall receive all warranties, maintenance manuals, product data, and closeout documents as applicable. Any and all questions, concerns, request for additional information, and alternate product considerations shall be directed to the Henderson County Finance Department to the attention of the Purchasing Agent: Doug Guffey hcpurchasing@hendersoncountync.gov Deadline for Questions 5:00 PM February 20, 2024 Attn- Purchasing Agent: Doug Guffey hcpurchasing@hendersoncountync.gov County Responses 5:00 PM February 21, 2024 If a pre-bid meeting has been scheduled, any objections must be presented in writing at that time.
