In general, the project consists of demolition of the existing dam/bridge structure at the outlet of Pine Lake in the Town of Hiles, Forest County, Wisconsin and construction of a new gated spillway in its place. Major project components include construction dewatering, demolition, construction of a cast-in-place concrete spillway, furnishing and installing a manually operated crest gate, installation of steel sheet pile cut-off walls, earthwork, and site restoration. A replacement bridge will be constructed under a separate contract. A formal pre-bid meeting to examine the site will not be held. The site is publicly accessible. A single prime bid will be received for the work. Bids must be accompanied by bid security in the amount of 5% of the maximum bid amount. Bid and bid security may not be withdrawn for a period of 45 days after the Bid Deadline. Bid security will be retained if the Bidder is awarded the Work and fails to execute the Agreement and furnish 100% Performance and Payment Bonds. This project is funded in part by financial assistance from a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) Municipal Dam Grant. If requested, the apparent low bidder will be required to submit evidence of qualifications to the Owner prior to award of contract.
