WV DOT - 014 - Greenawalt Gap Bridge Federal Project: NFA-2317(283) Project Description - The Greenawalt Gap Bridge Replacement project consists of replacing the existing crossing located on County Route 1 / 2, spanning Mill Run in the village of Kline in Pendleton County. The existing crossing consists of five 48-inch diameter corrugated metal culverts with earth infill, concrete parged walls, concrete wingwalls, and an asphalt paved wearing surface. The crossing was damaged by flooding in 2018 and full flow through the pipes has not been fully restored following repairs. Water flow has caused significant erosion issues on and around the structure. The purpose of the project is to maintain a safe crossing by building a structure with adequate water flow. The preliminary impact area for the project has been evaluated for the presence of Section 4(f) resources. The preliminary impact area consists of permanent right-of-way and temporary construction easements needed to complete the project.
