The Village of Penn Yan will award a contract to the engineering firm(s) deemed most qualified to provide services as requested. The contract(s) will include scope and extent of work and other essential requirements. The Village of Penn Yan is looking to undertake a water system improvements project. The Village owns and operates a water treatment plant and distribution system whose water source is Keuka Lake. Within the past few years, Keuka Lake has had elevated levels of microcystic, which is a cyanotoxin that is naturally produced by cyanobacteria or blue green algae. The health advisory levels for microcystic are 0.3 for young children and 1.6 for school age and up. The Village levels are currently above 2.0 putting them above the health advisory levels. The Village is seeking an engineering firm to complete design for CT Improvements including a new Clear well, waste tanks, and automating the plant for slower operation, as well as administer and closeout the project.
