Renovation of a recreation facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a recreation facility.

The Recreation and Parks Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge (BREC) operates and manages 186 parks including BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo. The Baton Rouge Zoo, located in BREC's 660 acres Greenwood Park, opened on Easter Sunday 1970. The Zoo is a place where people connect with animals, including tigers, giraffes, rhinos and alligators. The Realm of the Tiger, Flamingo Cove, Giants of the Islands, Safari Playground, L'aquarium de Louisiane, and KidsZoo exhibits offer fun and education for all ages. The Zoo operates and manages 147 acres, with a staff of about 100 employees. The Zoo's peak season is the Spring (March/April) due largely to temperate weather & school field trips. However, other peak times circulate around the large-scale community events such Boo at the Zoo & BREW at the Zoo both held in October.
