Site work for a water / sewer project in Toledo, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Scope of Work includes but is not necessarily limited to all materials, labor, equipment, supervision, profit, overhead, insurance, and specified warranties to complete the following 1. Permitting, notification, and coordination with all affected or required Agencies and City Divisions. 2. Provide, install, maintain barricades with or without flashers, signs for rerouting of pedestrians or vehicular traffic per all applicable codes, ordinances and local, state and federal regulations. Removal of barricades upon substantial completion. 3. Contractor is responsible for all site cleaning which may include, but is not limited to, demolition debris gathering and removal by hand, machinery, or magnet(s), remediation of soils due to spills related to vehicle(s) and machinery used in the demolition process. 4. Site clearing to include removal of existing stockpiles, hauling, and appropriate disposal. Removal of brush, rocks, objectionable litter or foreign material and disposed by contractor. 5. Provide 522 SF of geo-grid for base stabilization of temporary parking areas indicated on site access drawings (SA-001). 6. Demolition and appropriate disposal of select pavement and asphalt required for excavation to install sewer system work. 7. Replacement of select pavement & asphalt disturbed by storm sewer excavation. 8. Sewer system work including piping, fittings and drainage structures for storm and sanitary sewers. 9. Abandonment of select utilities to remain in place. 10. Preparation of subgrade for specified earthwork around bio-retention pond. Installation of a 665 sq ft bio-retention pond in sequence on specification drawings. 11. All holes, ruts caused by construction vehicles will be filled and smoothed. All subbase resulting from foundation excavation will be removed from the site. 12. Install top soil (with no deleterious material in it) atop the premium backfill to grade. Level and compact and rake same, grade and rake all other disturbed area(s) to existing elevations. 13. Contractor must clean debris on a daily basis so as to ensure public safety is maintained in the work area. This includes ongoing street cleaning of Spencer St. 14. Work to include all notes referenced on the drawings that was not included in this scope of work. The Toledo Zoo is soliciting sealed proposals for the 833 Spencer St Bio-Retention Pond. The bid package includes all supervision, materials, labor, and equipment for the Bio-Retention Pond Project. Work shall consist of removal of existing yard basin, select storm sewers, and select stockpiles; plug all conduits and backfill; construction of a new bio-retention pond; relocation of select utilities under proposed storm. A certified check, cashier's check, or a letter of credit, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid amount, or a bid bond in accordance with all applicable sections of the Ohio Revised Code is required. Particular attention should be given to Ohio Revised Code Section 307.88, 153.54, 153.57, and 153.571. If your proposal is accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or a letter of credit, a performance and payment bond for 100% of your bid proposal will be required. Minimum Wage Rates, Prevailing Wage Rates, and Equal Employment Opportunity laws of the United States and the State of Ohio are applicable to all bids received for this project Bids are subject to the terms and conditions of the Bidding Documents and the terms and conditions are hereby incorporated into the Invitation to Bid the same as if written in full herein. The owner may reject any and all bids on any basis and without disclosure of a reason. The Owner may waive any informality in the bidding to the extent permitted by law, or accept the bid which is the "lowest and best" and which embraces such combination of alternates as may promote the best interests of the Owner. Such actions taken by the Owner shall not result in accrual of any right, claim, or cause of action by any unsuccessful bidder against The Toledo Zoo, the Board of Lucas County Commissioners, or Consultants under contract to The Toledo Zoo who prepared the specification and drawings. Anticipated Award: February 1, 2024
