Renovation of an educational facility in Cupertino, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 2,541-square-foot educational facility.

Upgrade L1 Flat Roof work includes Remove and dispose of all ballasted gravel and roofing material down to the existing wood substrate. Site to be protected at all times as building is to be occupied while construction is underway. Remove all roofing material from wall/curb locations along with associated flashings. At parapet wall, ensure coping metal integrity is kept for re-installation with new roofing membrane. If coping metal is damaged during remove, contractor to replace in kind. Remove/replace all wood decking in the plywood/Nailer's substrate that shows evidence of dry rot, infill to match existing deck/wall height. Clean and prep existing substrate to receive new roofing system. Mechanically attach 1/2 " recovery board, fully adhere specified 80 Mil PVC Roof membrane with associated metals, install sawcut receiver with previously removed counter flashing, coping cap, and trim metals for re-installation. Existing conduit/electrical/gas lines are to be raised/attached to fit new pipe support at minimum 10" height. Install new retrofit main and overflow drains. Remove existing roof hatch and replace with new roof hatch including safety railing. Remove existing roof hatch and replace with new roof hatch including safety railing. Remove existing attic access hatch and replace with new proper swing attic access hatch. Install new plywood catwalk to connect attic access hatch and roof hatch. Upgrade/replace two (2) new attic space lights with an on-off switch at the attic access entrance. Field verifies nearest circuit and integrate new lighting into circuit. Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of: a) a certified or cashier's check made payable to the District or b) a Bid Bond, in the form and content attached hereto, in favor of the District executed by the Bidder as a principal and a Surety as surety (the "Bid Security") in an amount not less than (10%) ten percent of the maximum amount of the Bid Proposal. Pursuant to California Labor Code 1773, the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of California has determined the generally prevailing rates of wages in the locality in which the Work is to be performed. Copies of these determinations, entitled "PREVAILING WAGE SCALE", are maintained at the District's Offices located at 12345 El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills, California 94022, and are available to any interested party upon request. The Contractor awarded the Contract for the Work shall post a copy of all applicable prevailing wage rates for the Work at conspicuous locations at the Site of the Work. The Contractor and all Subcontractors performing any portion of the Work shall pay not less than the applicable prevailing wage rate for the classification of labor provided by their respective workers in prosecution and execution of the Work. License Requirements: General Building Contractor, Classification (B) license with a C39 or Classification (B) license with a C39 Subcontractor The Contract for the Work, if awarded, will be by action of the District's Board of Trustees to the responsible Bidder submitting the lowest responsive Bid Proposal. If the Bid Proposal requires Bidders to propose prices for Alternate Bid Items, the District's selection of Alternate Bid Items, if any, for determination of the lowest priced Bid Proposal and for inclusion in the scope of the Contract to be awarded shall be in accordance with the Instructions for Bidders. The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid Proposal or in the bidding.
