The scope of work generally includes traffic signal improvements, to include trenching, conduit, multiple traffic adaptive systems and other related improvements. This project is partially funded by a Green Light Go Grant which the bidder shall be familiar with any specific requirements or specifications that would apply during construction. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bidder's bond, certified check or cashier's check, in favor of Bensalem Township, in the amount of not less than 10% of the total amount of the bid. The successful bidder shall be bound to furnish and pay for a Performance Bond and a Labor & Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, on bond forms acceptable to Bensalem Township. Bids will have a tentative award date of January 22, 2024. There will be No pre-bid meeting for this project. A nominal fee is assessed only to bidders who are awarded contracts. For bidders who are not the winning bid; there are absolutely no fees. All Bidders must be PennDOT pre-qualified in order to submit a bid. To demonstrate Bidder is qualifications to perform the Work, Bidder shall submit with its Bid a copy of their ECMS PennDOT Approved Pre-Qualification Summary Page for the Prime Contractor and all Sub Contractors. All bidders must complete the Contractor & Subcontractor Responsibility Certification form. This contract is in accordance with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act, and the successful bidder shall pay no less than the Wage Rates determined for the project as stated in the Contract documents. Award of the Contract, if the contract is awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder, as determined by Bensalem Township. The Township reserves the right to reject any and or all bids on any basis and to waive any defects, errors, omissions, irregularities or informalities in the bidding, as permitted by law, and to accept any Bid which it may deem to be for or in the best interest of the Township in its sole and absolute discretion. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted via PennBID. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
