Demolition, site work and paving for a playground / park / athletic field in Sunnyvale, California. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; and for paving for a playground / park / athletic field.
NOTE: ALL PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS/RESPONDENTS ARE HEREBY CAUTIONED NOT TO CONTACT ANY MEMBER OF THE CITY OF SUNNYVALE STAFF OR OFFICIALS OTHER THAN THE SPECIFIED CONTACT PERSON. Minority-Owned, Woman-Owned, and Small Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond to this solicitation. Bid Security in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid dollar amount and conforming to the prescribed bidding procedures is required to be submitted with each bid. Time for Completion Contractor has seventy-five (75) consecutive working days allotted for construction and must complete the project within two hundred and ten (210) calendar days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Allow up to twenty (20) working days for submittal review after submission from Contractor and one hundred and eighty (180) calendar days for procurement of playground equipment. Due to the long lead time, contractor shall not mobilize for construction until after the last day of school on May 24th, 2024. If delivery of playground equipment takes longer than one hundred and eighty (180) calendar days, an adjustment of contract duration shall be made at no cost to either party. Liquidated damages shall be in the sum of one thousand dollars and no/100 ($1,000) per calendar day Following the execution of the contract, the contractor shall submit play equipment submittals for City review and approval. Once approved, the play equipment order shall be placed due to anticipation of a six (6) to nine (9) month lead time. Construction of the project site will be allowed to begin after the last day of classes Friday, May 24th, 2024, in accordance with the Preschool summer break schedule. Construction activities shall be completed by Friday, September 6th, 2024. Document Notes : fee, plus shipping and handling, for delivered hard copies of documents posted, only, to the Web site; $5.00 for any document package electronically downloaded from the Web site by members without subscriptions that include the City of Sunnyvale in their subscription service territory. Furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment and performing all work necessary and incidental to the completion of the project known as PRESCHOOL OUTDOOR PLAY AREA - SERRA PARK, ST-20-02 consisting of furnishing all tools, equipment, apparatus, facilities, labor, transportation, and material necessary to carry out demolition, erosion control, grading, drainage, irrigation, pavement, curbs, site furnishings, play equipment, soil preparation, planting and other miscellaneous work, complete in place , ready for use according to plans and specifications prepared by the City of Sunnyvale and according to the contract documents. Bonds and Insurance - The successful bidder shall furnish performance and payment (labor and materials) bonds, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price (Base Bid plus Alternates, if any) and issued by an admitted surety insurer authorized to operate in the State of California. The only bonds acceptable to the City shall be those included with the bid documents. The successful bidder shall also maintain throughout performance of the work the insurance coverage specified in the bid documents. The City utilizes the online insurance program PINSAdvantage.com (PINS) to track all insurance related documents. The City does not accept insurance documents by mail. You will receive an email from no-reply@pinsadvantage.com, the City's online insurance program, requesting proof of insurance and for you to forward the email to your insurance provider(s) who are able to upload insurance documents directly to PINS for approval. The City reserves the right to postpone the date and time for receipt of bids at any time prior to the date and time announced in the Notice Inviting Bids. The date and time shall be extended by at least 72 hours in the event the City issues any material changes, additions, or deletions to the bid documents within 72 hours prior to the bid closing.
