Renovation of an educational facility in Closter, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Project Description: Aluminum Window Replacement at the Tenakill Middle School, Closter, NJ prepared by Di Cara | Rubino Architects. Work includes: 1. Legal removal of existing aluminum windows, flashings, and related materials as indicated on drawings. 2. 3. Installation of the following: a. Aluminum double windows. b. Aluminum projected windows. 5. Installation of miscellaneous flashings and accessories. Bids are to be marked in a sealed envelope and delivered to Closter Board of Education at 340 Homans Avenue, Closter, N.J. 07624, with the name of the project, "Window Replacement at Tenakill Middle School" plainly marked on the front of the envelope. Every bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00. The Closter Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any minor informality in the bidding process in accordance with the law if it is in the best interest of the Board of Education. The contract, if awarded, shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive in all material respects to the bid requirements. No bid shall be deemed accepted until the adoption of a formal resolution by the Closter Board of Education. 1. The work includes the complete legal removal of all windows scheduled to be replaced. Damaged wood blocking and trim. Removal and resetting of interior and exterior metal window guards. Remove existing window air conditioning units saved for reinstallation. 2. Install new double hung and projected aluminum windows with insulated glass with new wood blocking to suit the new installation conditions resetting of existing window air conditioning units and metal window guards as required for window installation. 3. Protect all existing construction, such as, wood trim interior wall finishes, ceilings window blinds, etc. Damage to existing construction or equipment shall be restored to the satisfaction of the Architect at no additional cost to the Owner. 4. The Contractor shall be advised that the Contract for this work shall be awarded by the Board of Education as soon as possible after receipt of bids. If said bids are within budgeted amounts, the actual work by Contractors shall commence on June 26, 2024 and all work shall be completed no later than August 16, 2024. The contractor shall pay the Owner the sum specified in the Instruction to Bidders as liquidated damages, not as a penalty, for each calendar day the project is delayed. 5. The following work schedule shall be strictly adhered to. Failure to do so shall be cause to immediately terminate the Agreement between Owner and Contractor. It shall be understood by all parties if work is to be performed on weekends and holidays, the Contractor can perform said work only if approved by the Owner beforehand.
