As of January 30, 2024, project is cancelled. Project is no longer needed. Clarks Summitt State Hospital is solicitating for a vendor to upgrade it's current fire alarm audio system. All questions regarding the IFB must be submitted via the RA-pwbidquestions@pa.gov email address. All questions must be received by 01/03/2024 12:00pm. Include the IFB bid number in the subject of the email. All questions and answers are considered an addendum to the IFB. Answers will be post by 01/05/2024 12pm. The Contractor shall complete all necessary repairs to the Fire Alarm System. The Contractor shall supply and install all new network components in the current fire alarm panels. The Contractor shall place the entire fire alarm network out of service during the upgrade placing all current nodes or panels in standalone mode. The Contractor may not affect the fire detection ability during this transition and shall only impact the ability to broadcast to other network nodes. During the upgrade, the Contractor shall reprogram each node to communicate using modern protocols. The Contractor shall utilize existing fiber optic cabling and may not utilize additional wiring. Background : The current Fire Alarm Network has been in place for 20 years, however, due to changes in manufacturing, the technology is obsolete and requires upgrading to the latest platform. The manufacturer of the current Fire Alarm Network, Simplex, is no longer able to provide repair parts to maintain the current technology employed. This bid has since been cancelled.
