Replies will be issued in writing to all bidders of record as addenda to the Bidding Documents and will become part of the contract. Replies issued in any other manner will not be binding. The Architect will not be responsible for oral clarifications. No inquiry received within seven (7) calendar days of the date fixed for the opening of bids will be given consideration. Any person or corporation who fails to submit a bid shall forfeit their deposit to the SCHOOL DISTRICT in its entirety. Attention of the Bidders is specifically directed to the minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract, as well as to other provisions set forth in the bidding documents. Project Summary: The overall project schedule is broken down into several major areas of renovation work in the Smithtown Elementary School, over the course of Summer and Fall of 2024. The Prime Contractors will be working in a partially occupied and fully functional Public School Building. The Prime Contractors should note that office personnel will be occupying the building during the summer and special care and consideration needs to be taken as to not disrupt their normal activities. The contractors are expected to coordinate to complete their work during off- school hours, weekends, and summer recess and school holidays. This invitation is an offer to receive bids for a contract. The successful Bidder will be required to execute a formal contract in the form contained in the Contract Documents. This Contractor shall supply all the labor, material and equipment necessary to remove & legally dispose of all doors, frames & hardware, and install new doors, including but not limited to: A.
