Site work for a water / sewer project in Huntington Park, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The general items of work are for furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals needed to complete the project and doing all work necessary as indicated on the specifications. Work includes but not limited to the following: Provide and install two horizontal centrifugal pumps and electric motors. This includes removal of existing pumps and motors, fittings and all appurtenances. Provide and install well discharge piping, sand separator, and solids recovery vessel. This includes piping, valves, fittings, drain line, and all appurtenances. o Provide and install necessary site electrical system control components. This includes demolition of existing electrical panel and layout, installation of MCC, switchboard, generator panel, instrumentation, conduit, wiring and all necessary connections and hook ups. Provide and install exhaust fan, louver, and air duct. This includes roof penetration and all appurtenances. All other miscellaneous work as shown on the Plans. Engineer's Estimate: $676,000 Bid Period -December 22, 2023 - February 7, 2024 Request for Information Deadline - January 25, 2024 by 5:00 PM Release of Information Requested - February 1, 2024 by 5:00 PM Bid Opening - February 7, 2024 at 2:00 PM Tentative Award date - February 20, 2024 All questions from Plan Holders are to be posted Electronically. To comply with SB 854, beginning January 1, 2015 the following applies: 1. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for public works project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)]. 2. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public works on a public works project awarded on or after April 1, 2015, unless registered with the DIR. 3. The project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR. 4. Require the prime contractor to post job site notices prescribed by regulation (regulation not created yet) or the City must post the notices itself. The Contractor must register with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) as a prerequisite to obtain a contract with the City. Contractor must include in the bid submittal a signed and executed Appendix B form. The AGENCY hereby affirmatively ensures that minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this notice and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, marital status or religion in any consideration leading to the award of contract. In entering into a public works contract, or subcontract, to supply goods, services, or materials pursuant to a public works contract, the Contractor, or the Subcontractors, offers and agrees to assign to the awarding body all rights, title and interest in, and to, all causes of action it may have under Section 4 of the Clayton Act (15 U.S.C. Section 15) of under the Cartwright Act (Chapter 2 [commencing with Section 16700] of Part 2 of Division 7 of the Business and Professions Code), arising from purchases of goods, services, or materials pursuant to the public work contract or the subcontract. This assignment shall be made and become effective as the time the awarding body tender's final payment to the Contractor, without further acknowledgement by the parties. Bids must be prepared on the approved Proposal forms in conformance with the "Instructions to Bidders" and submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked on the outside. The bid must be accompanied by certified or cashier's check, or bidder's bond, made payable to the AGENCY for an amount no less than ten percent of the amount bid. Bidders must hold a valid California Class A Contractor's License. No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with provisions of the Business and Professions Code. The successful Contractor and his subcontractors will be required to possess business licenses from the City. The AGENCY will deduct five percent (5%) retention from all progress payments as specified in Section 9-3.2 of these Specifications. The Contractor may substitute an escrow holder surety of equal value to the retention and the Contractor shall be beneficial owner of the surety and shall receive any interest thereon. The AGENCY reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity and to take all bids under advisement for a period of sixty (60) days. The total contract period for this project is Two-Hundred and Forty (240) working days from the effective date of the Notice-to Proceed to be issued by the City. City of HUNTINGTON PARK, as AGENCY, in the penal sum of dollars ($ ), which is one-hundred percent (100%) of the total contract amount for the above stated project, for the payment of which sum, CONTRACTOR and SURETY agree to be bound, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. The "Payment Bond" (Material and Labor Bond) shall be for not less than 50 percent of the contract price, to satisfy claims of material suppliers and of mechanics and laborers employed by it on the work.
