The Kalamazoo County Jail is seeking proposals for the replacement and upgrade of existing coaxial cables with CAT5 or higher-grade cables. The jail, established over 50 years ago, consists ofsix linear wings and hosts 30+ televisions distributed throughout the facility. Additionally, there is a centrally located media control room that manages all media content and distribution. BACKGROUND AND SCOPE: The primary objective of this project is to replace all outdated coaxial cables within the facility with CAT5 or higher-grade cables. The replacement will encompass the following: 1. Cable Replacement: Removal and disposal of existing coaxial cables and installation of CAT5 or higher-grade cables in all wings and connecting areas. 2. Media Center Integration: Ensuring that the new cables are seamlessly connected to the media control room, enabling the distribution of network TV and programming to all televisions in the facility. 3. Testing and Certification: Comprehensive testing and certification of the installed cables to ensure compliance with industry standards and optimal functionality.
