As of February 1, 2024, the project has been awarded, however, a timeline for construction has not been confirmed. Contract Time: 35 Working Days for constructing the Resurfacing (Micro-Surfacing Seal Coat, Type II) and Traffic Stripe on SR-14 from the junction of SR-63 to the junction of SR-229 in Tallassee to include Traffic Sign Improvements at the intersection of CR-155 (Cherokee Trail). Length 8.026 mi. The Bracket Estimate on this project is from $1,211,606 to $1,480,851 . The total amount of uncompleted work under contract to a contractor must not exceed the amount of his or her qualification certificate. Minimum Wage Rates have been pre-determined by the Secretary of Labor and are set forth in the advertised specifications. Federal Aid Projects are also subject to the contract work hours and Safety Standards Act and its implementing regulations. Cashier's check or bid bond for 5% of bid (maximum - $50,000.00) made payable to the Alabama Department of Transportation must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith. The Alabama Department of Transportation, proposals will be issued only to prequalified contractors or their authorized representatives, upon requests that are received before 10 AM., on the day previous to the day of opening of bids. The bidder's proposal must be submitted on the complete original proposal furnished him or her by the Alabama Department of Transportation. The right to reject any or all bids is reserved. ALDOT - Call Order 035 - Resurfacing (Micro-surfacing Seal Coat, Type II) and Traffic Stripe on SR-14 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The work under this Section covers the general requirements that are applicable to all types of hot and warm mix asphalt pavements of the plant mix type. Deviations from these general requirements will be indicated in the specific requirements for various types of mixes noted in the following sections of these Specifications. This work shall consist of one or more courses of hot and warm mix asphalt plant mix constructed in accordance with these specifications and the specific requirements of the type of mixture required and in reasonably close conformity with the lines, grades, thicknesses, and typical cross sections shown on the plans or established by the Engineer. The Contractor may use either hot mix or warm mix for all Superpave ESAL Range mixes in Sections 420, 423, and 424. Warm mix asphalt shall be defined as the use of an approved warm mix technology in the plant mix at the time of production. This work shall also include the preparation of the underlying surface on which the plant mix is to be placed, including patching and/or leveling as shown on the plans or directed by the Engineer.
