Renovation of an educational facility in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 27,946-square-foot educational facility.

Project Scope: Reroofing of portion of existing high school roof, approximately 27,946 square feet. Removal and replacement of mechanical equipment to allow for new roof curbs and roofing system; and other Work indicated in the drawings and specifications. Est. Value: $ 700,000.00 A more detailed description of the kinds and approximate quantities of materials and types of construction for which bids will be received are set forth in the Bidding Documents prepared by ISG, of Mankato, Minnesota, which, together with the proposed form of contract, have heretofore been approved by the Board of Education of the Fort Community School District, and are now on file for public examination at the District Administration Office in said City, and are by this reference made part hereof as though fully set out and incorporated herein. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check or certified share draft in a separate sealed envelope, clearly marked "Bid Bond" or Bid Security", in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the proposal. The certified or cashier's check shall be drawn on a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America or the certified share draft shall be drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States and payable to the Fort Community School District. Said check or share draft may be cashed, or the bid bond forfeited as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract within ten (10) days of issuance of a Notice of Award and post bond satisfactory to the School District insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and maintenance of said improvements as required by law. The bid bond should be executed by a corporation authorized to contract as a surety in the State of Iowa and must not contain any conditions either in the body or as an endorsement thereon. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the Board of Education of the Fort Community School District, and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained, the payment for materials used in the project and the maintenance of said improvements in good repair for not less than one (1) year from the time of acceptance of said improvements by the Board of Education of the Fort Community School District. The Contractor will be paid ninety-five percent (95%) of the Architect's estimate of the value of acceptable work completed at the end of the preceding month. Final payment will be made not less than thirty-one (31) days after completion of the work and acceptance by the Board of Education of the Fort Community School District, subject to the conditions and in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 573 of the Code of Iowa. The work on this project shall commence within ten (10) days after receipt by the contractor of a written notice to proceed and shall be substantially completed on or before July 12, 2024, subject to any changes in the contract period as provided for in these specifications and granted by the Council. The Work on this project shall be finally completed by, and ready for final payment, on or before July 19, 2024, subject to any changes in the contract period as provided for in these specifications and granted by the Board of Education of the Fort Community School District.
