Site work for a water / sewer project in Columbia, Missouri. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Location - 6851 W. Rte K Columbia, MO 65203 The scope of the investigation included a reconnaissance of the site, a review of all available subsurface data in the vicinity, a subsurface investigation consisting of five soil borings to depths ranging from 39.5 to79.5 feet, laboratory soil testing, and an engineering analysis and evaluation of the foundation materials present at the site. The purpose of the investigation was to determine the types of subsurface materials present at the site likely to be encountered or affected by the proposed construction; to determine the general engineering characteristics of the various materials; to determine the seismic site class according to the 2018 International Building Codes; and to provide a basis for recommendations regarding bearing capacity and compressibility of the foundation and subgrade materials. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The project consists of various upgrades to the Water Treatment Plant, including the construction of two new structures. The first structure is the new High Service Pump Station and the second is the new Chemical Building. Both structures are located on the south side of the water plant. At this time, column and wall loads have yet to be determined. The preliminary plans indicate that the new structures will be concrete slabs with below ground concrete walls and above ground load bearing CMU walls. The finished floor elevation for the High Service Pump Station is anticipated at 559 feet for the bottom of the pump pit (approximately 26 feet below existing grade) and 584 feet for the operations level. Finished floor elevation of the Chemical building is anticipated to be close to the existing grade at around 582 feet. SITE LOCATION The project site is located on the Missouri River bottoms, approximately 2.9 miles southwest of the City of Columbia, Missouri on State Route K. The site is bordered by Perche Creek on the northwest and undeveloped and agricultural fields for the ret remaining sides. Specifically, the project in the northeast 1/4 of Section 12, Township 47 North, Range 14 West or Latitude 38.8866740, Longitude -92.4435910 (See Vicinity Map, page 2). PERFORMANCE, LABOR AND MATERIALS BONDING: The contractor on a public improvement project costing more than fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) shall provide to the City, a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond (Attachment 4), with corporate surety, satisfactory to the purchasing agent, each in an amount not less than the contract price. Contractor shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, each for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, guaranteeing faithful compliance with all requirements of the contract documents and complete fulfillment of the contract, including payment of all labor, material, and other bills made in carrying out this contract." In the event of the withdrawal of the Bid within the period specified, or the failure to enter into such contract within the time specified, then the Bid Security shall immediately become due and payable and forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. Principal and Surety agree that this is a fair and reasonable approximation of the actual damages incurred by the City for the Principal's failure to honor its bid and that the liquidated damages in this section are not penal in nature but rather the parties' attempt to fairly quantify the actual damages incurred by the City for the Principal's refusal to honor its bid. The City of Columbia reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received in response to this RFP, or to cancel the RFP if it is in the best interest of the City of Columbia to do so. Failure to furnish all information requested in this RFP may disqualify the proposal. Any exceptions to the requirements specified must be identified in the proposal.
