The City of Richland has 16 restrooms throughout the parks and trails systems that we currently own and operate. Many of these restrooms are 15 years or older, and are either in need of, or nearing need of, replacement. As these restrooms near the end of life, the maintenance burden becomes exponentially worse as equipment and systems will begin to fail, thus causing more frequent and longer restroom closures. In an effort to keep costs down on restrooms, the City is exploring all options for restroom construction, including modular and "restroom kit" vendors that can provide maximum value to the City for the upfront cost, as the restrooms are more of a premanufactured product, thus saving money on labor.
