The Fort McMurray Forest Area manages three (3) primary initial attack bases, Grayling, Martin and Fort Chipewyan. The bases are strategically located within the Forest Area, allowing the Department of Forestry and Parks to operate in a state of readiness to respond to initial wildfire starts. Culinary and Janitorial services are necessary to effectively support the Forest Area and Department in wildfire pre-suppression and suppression activities. The Province is requesting Proposals for providing meals and janitorial services. The successful contractor would have appropriate experience, expertise, and trained resources to provide meals and janitorial services at Grayling, Martin and Fort Chipewyan fire base. All firebases must be compliant with the Alberta Work Camps Regulation, and Food Safety Laws and Regulations which fall under the Alberta Public Health Act. There are no guarantees of any work minimums with this contract and the bases can be opened and closed within one (1) day. However, while bases are open, there is a guaranteed day rate provided for the individuals who provide the required service. Only one (1) contract will be awarded, aligning with provincial program time frames.
