Amtrak is accepting Letters of Interest for Construction Services for Surface Impoundment Improvement of the Stormwater Ponds at Amtrak's 8 th St Yard in Los Angeles, CA. Responses are to include qualification information requested/stated below and be limited to twenty (20) one-sided typed pages. Amtrak, at its sole discretion and without discussion, will determine which Contractors are to be added to its short list for the forthcoming Request for Proposal This project includes restoration/repair/replacement of 80-year-old wastewater treatment ponds at Amtrak's Los Angeles maintenance facility located at 2470 E 8 th St, Los Angeles, CA 90021. Wastewater, from floor drains and storm water inlets from a large southern portion of the maintenance facility is managed by aging gravity separation and retention ponds. Project will address aging infrastructure associated with ponds including but not limited to lift stations, pumps, utilities, piping, etc. Earthwork slope stabilization surrounding the ponds is also needed. General contractor scope of work is to remove sludge, clean, and complete repairs/restoration of six 90,000-gallon wastewater retention ponds and appurtenant controls and devices. Certain infrastructure will be demolished, removed, or replaced. The six 90-000-gallon retention ponds ("lower ponds") are to be coated with elastomeric type of material to extend pond life. Scope includes anchoring/stabilizing slopes on two sides of the ponds. Certain transfer piping to be replaced and or coated. Fall protection and cat walks to be added to ponds. Oil water separator to be removed and replaced. New skimmers will be procured and installed for lower ponds. A baffled weir wall will be added to the upper pond. Security fencing to be added around entire pond perimeter. New pumps and filters to be purchased and lift stations to be cleaned and coated. New collection and control piping to be added with utilities relocated and new decking around ponds.
