Demolition and site work for a residential development in Smithtown, New York. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.

A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** All Bids Must Be Submitted in a Sealed Envelope Addressed to the "Town Clerk, Town of Smithtown, 99 West Main Street, Smithtown, New York 11787", and Be Clearly Designated With the Title: Bid No. 24-003 Demolition of Unsafe Structures at 769 Middle Country Rd., St. James, Ny & 11 and 12 Plantation Dr., Hauppauge, Ny Demolition of Unsafe Structures at 769 Middle Country Rd., St. James, NY & 11 and 12 Plantation Dr., Hauppauge, NY Each bid must be accompanied by either a certified check on a solvent bank or trust company acceptable to the Town, or a bid bond from a surety prepared in such a form as is acceptable by the Town. The certified check or bid bond shall be in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price and be made payable to the Town of Smithtown as assurance that the contract will be executed if awarded to such bidders. The Town of Smithtown reserves the right to reject any and all bids. All bids must be submitted intact. Do not remove any pages. Non Collusive Bidding Certificate and Disclosure Statements must accompany each bid. The Town of Smithtown encourages minority and women owned businesses to participate in all bids. This townhouse and the adjacent townhouse (#12) were severely damaged by a fire in July, 2023, and must be demolished as they have been declared to be unsafe. The fire damaged structures are part of building #3 ofthe Willow Wood at Smithtown townhouse community and an as-built survey of this building is included in Appendix D for reference and use in preparing the demolition permit applications for both properties. Photographs of the two fire damaged townhomes have been provided in Appendix C. The intent of the demolition is to remove the unsafe structure in a manner that will allow for the repair of the adjacent unit (#10 Plantation Drive) and the eventual reconstruction of townhomes at #11 and #12 Plantation Drive. The individual units in building #3 are of wooden frame construction and separated by gypsum shaft firewalls as detailed in the architectural plans provided in Appendix E (drawing A-17). The units have no common load-bearing walls. The demolition at this location shall consist of the fire damaged structure however, certain elements such as the concrete foundation walls, footings, and slabs and other elements are to remain place as outlined in the Construction Details of this Item. In addition to the main structure, any trash or debris, including outdoor grills, propane tanks, and fire damaged patio furniture are to be remove and properly disposed of. As one of the adjoining structures (#10 Plantation Drive) to this townhouse is to remain in place additional measures as outlined in the Construction Details for this Item must be taken during the demolition and removal operation. The demolition at this location shall consist of the fire damaged structures however, certain elements such as the concrete foundation walls, footings, and slabs are to remain place as outlined in the Construction Details of this Item. In addition to the main structure, any trash or debris, including outdoor grills, propane tanks, and fire damaged patio furniture are to be remove and properly disposed of.
