The work to be performed under these specifications includes the rehabilitation, surface preparation, coating, and structural steel repairs of the water storage tank. (2) The tank is located at the 1300-1399 block of Oakdale St., Shreveport, LA 71108. Containment is required during exterior abrasive blasting operations to protect the environment. The information on the tank provided in the Engineer's Report of Inspection is general in nature and should not be relied upon to determine bid quantities or other bidding factors. (4) Scheduling and timely completion of all work required is of the upmost importance for this project. It is imperative that all work be completed during the low water demand period of the year for the City of Shreveport. The low water demand period occurs for six months from November to April. This ensures that the City of Shreveport will be able to maintain adequate system pressure while the tank is out of service. Work required before returning the tank to service should be given precedence over other ancillary work. Liquidated damages will be strictly enforced for failure to complete the work necessary to return the tank to service.
