A. The scope of work for the project will include the following, as illustrated, and described within the Documents issued by Blinn College District B. Base Bid: The project is the demolition of Buccaneer, Katherine Atkinson, Lockett, and Spencer Halls on the Blinn-Brenham Campus. Buccaneer Hall is approximately 8,300 square feet, Katherine Atkinson Hall is approximately 8,000 square feet, Lockett Hall is approximately 7,200 square feet, and Spencer Hall is approximately 6,500 square feet. All 4 halls are 2-story student housing buildings. All 4 buildings are assumed to be wood framed, brick façade, with concrete foundation systems. Site elements such as concrete walks, stoops, steps, site paving, and site landscaping will also be demolished. Existing perimeter sidewalks and large trees shall remain. Topsoil backfill, final grading, and hydroseeding shall also be included in the project. Abatement/remediation of any hazardous materials shall be included in the project. Refer to the hazardous materials report and remediation/abatement design for any hazardous materials. Blinn College District, a Junior College District of Washington County, is receiving competitive sealed proposals for General Contractor services for demolition of Buccaneer, Katherine Atkinson, Lockett, and Spencer Halls on the Blinn Campus in Brenham, Texas. The selection of the General Contractor will follow the provisions of the Texas Educational Code Section 44.031 and consist of the one-step process set forth in Section 2269 of the Texas Government Code. Blinn College District reserves the right to award proposals in a manner most advantageous to the College.
