As of March 26, 2024 the poject was awarded to Thompson Electrical Inc with the amount of $51,400,75 The City is soliciting proposals for the planning and complete installation of a full fire alarm system throughout the building that meets building codes for a childcare facility, including a monitoring system, at the Valentine Center in Battle Creek, MI located at 75 Irving Park Drive, Battle Creek, MI. The Valentine Center located at 75 Irving park drive in Battle Creek was previously a child care facility, and the City would like it to continue to be a child care facility. In order to have a proprietor continue running this facility as a child care, the current fire alarm system needs to be upgraded to meet today's required child care building code. We are looking for a vendor to help us define and recommend what that upgrade looks like for this specific facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED Before submitting a proposal, firms shall carefully examine the scope of work and shall fully inform themselves as to all existing conditions and limitations and shall indicate in the proposal all items requested. Contractor shall: Provide a plan for the fire alarms that are in compliance with all codes and requirements for a day care facility. Supply and install the fire alarms according to the plan. Provide and install a monitoring system. Please note the pre-proposal conference date, time, and location on the front page of this document. That meeting will give vendors the opportunity to look at the building and ask questions.
