This is an asbestos remediation project at Verona Elementary that is taking place prior to a scheduled HVAC Renovation Project. 1. Quantities listed are estimates only. The contractor is responsible for verifying actual quantities that will be removed. 2. All personnel on the work site must pass the Battle Creek School system background check. 3. The successful bidder will be required to conform to the wage requirements prescribed by the federal Davis-Bacon and related acts (prevailing wage). 4. All painted surfaces contain heavy metals. Lead-safe work practices should be utilized during your work. 5. Work completed while school is occupied shall be completed on second shift. 6. Abatement is scheduled to start after March 22nd, 2024. 7. Contract award preference may be given to the Contractor with shorter schedule duration. The Contractor shall furnish bonds covering faithful performance of the Contract and payment of obligations arising thereunder. Bonds may be obtained through the Contractor's usual source and the cost thereof shall be included in the Contract Sum. The amount of each bond shall be equal to 100% of the Contract Sum. The Contractor shall deliver the required bonds not later than three days following the date the Agreement is entered into, or if the work is to be commenced prior thereto in response to a Letter of Intent, the Contractor shall, prior to the commencement of the work, submit evidence satisfactory to the Owner that such bonds will be furnished. Include the costs of Payment Bonds and Performance Bonds in the base bid if the bid is over $50,000 and include the amount for bonds as an alternate in the base bid is under $50,000. Bid Bond or certified check of not less then 5% of the bid amount shall be submitted with bid and made payable to Battle Creek Public Schools.
