Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Battle Creek, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.
The project estimated cost is around 300k to 400k. Description: The project site, approximately one (1) acre of the 298-acre Ott Biological Preserve, is located in Battle Creek, Michigan on the north side of Olive Street, on Arlington Avenue. The site is owned and managed by Calhoun County. The work consists of realigning the existing entrance drive and parking lot, new bathroom building including utility hookups (water, sewer, electric), MNRTF sign, picnic area, concrete sidewalks, rain gardens, and landscape. Contractor proposals must include a certified check or acceptable bid bond for a sum not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal amount. Bid Bonds must be received by the Community Development office prior to the due date for submission of the bid. The right is reserved by the Owner to accept any proposal, to reject any proposal, and to waive irregularities in proposals. No bid may be withdrawn after the above date and time for receiving bids for a period of one-hundred-twenty (120) days. SCOPE OF WORK The work under this Contract shall consist of the items contained in the Proposal, including all incidentals necessary to fully complete the project in accordance with the Contract Documents. AWARD AND EXECUTION OF CONTRACT The Contract shall be deemed as having been awarded when formal notice of award shall have been duly served by the Fiscal Agent upon the bidder. The bidder to whom the contract shall have been awarded will be required to execute the Agreement in the form attached hereto and to furnish Surety and Insurance Certificates, all as required. In case of his refusal or failure to do so within ten (10) calendar days after award, he will be considered to have abandoned all his rights and interests in the award, and his bid deposit may be declared forfeited to the Fiscal Agent as liquidated damages and the work may be awarded to another bidder. RIGHT TO ACCEPT, TO REJECT AND TO WAIVE DEFECTS The Fiscal Agent reserves the right to accept any proposal, to reject any or all proposals, and to waive defects or irregularities in any proposal. In particular, any alteration, erasure or interlineation of the Contract Documents and of the Form of Proposal shall render the accompanying proposal irregular and subject to rejection by the Fiscal Agent.
