Saving Project...

Site work for a service station / car wash facility in Louisville, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a service station / car wash facility.

Louisville / Jefferson County Metro Government (LMG) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to gauge interest and seek information regarding the installation of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) that could serve LMGs fleet vehicles and the public. Questions Due Date: Feb 2nd 2024, 3:00 PM EST LMG seeks to accelerate alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) adoption in Louisville, KY as one strategy to pursue our bold sustainability goals. The 100 Percent Louisville initiative is LMG's commitment to 100% renewable energy by 2040. Legislation by our Metro Council and Mayor documents our elected leaders' commitments relating to electric vehicles: o 100% Renewable Energy Resolution o In February 2020, the Louisville Metro Council passed Resolution #R-102-19 which committed to converting to 100% clean renewable electricity for our government operations by 2030. o Executive Order to Prioritize Purchases that Advance Sustainability Efforts o In May 2021, former Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer signed Executive Order 2021-005 which states that LMG agencies and departments shall prioritize the purchasing of electric and hybrid vehicles, green equipment, and necessary infrastructure to support LMG's transition to electric vehicles. o Executive Order to Reach Net Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 2040 o In October 2022, Mayor Greg Fischer signed Executive Order 2022-006 and committed to the science-based targets of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions community-wide by 2040 and a 50% reduction in emissions by 2030. LMG has taken administrative steps to scale up efforts to address climate change, including establishing the Office of Sustainability. In January 2023, the Office of Sustainability was established by current Mayor Craig Greenberg as one of his first initiatives in office. This ensures that sustainability is factored into all the decisions made within LMG. The Mayor's Office and Office of Sustainability are now coordinating with departments across LMG to advance the adoption of EVSE technology, including: Fleet and Facilities, Public Works, Air Pollution Control District, Louisville Free Public Libraries, Louisville Zoo, Louisville Fire, Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), and the Parking Authority of River City (PARC). Fleet and Facilities has begun the process of transitioning its light-duty municipal fleet and is supporting other agencies with fleet vehicles to explore EV and other zero emission technology, including the Zoo, LMPD, and Fire. Due to supply chain issues and limits in technology for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, progress towards full fleet transition has been limited thus far but LMG staff are continually searching for new vehicle options that can both provide mission-critical services and reduce emissions Questions: All questions requesting clarification or interpretation of any section of this RFI must be submitted on-line through the Bonfire website.
