2024 Micro-surfacing Program. Micro-Surfacing 15,500 SY on various streets Owner Requires Bidders to Be Pre-qualified for This Project in Accordance With the Wisconsin Statues 66.29(2). Qualifications Shall Be Delivered to the Engineer, Not Less Than 5 Days Prior to the Bid Deadline. The Owner's Decision as to the Prequalification's Shall Be Final. The City of Shawano Common Council Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids, Waive Any Informalities in Bidding, or to Accept the Bid or Bids Which Best Serves the Interest of the City. Owner Requires Bid Security in the Form of a Bid Bond or Cashier's Check in the Amount Of 5% of the Bid Amount. - The work shall consist of furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, and traffic control necessary to perform all work operations in connection with Micro-Surfacing existing asphaltic pavements. Micro-surfacing shall consist of a properly proportioned mixture of asphalt emulsion, aggregates, mineral filler, and water, resulting in a Type II micro-surface seal which is mixed and spread evenly on a clean, prepared pavement surface. - Micro-surfacing machines used in the work shall be specifically designed and manufactured to place micro-surfacing. - Micro-surfacing shall be removed from areas such as manholes, valve boxes, drop inlets, and other surface utilities after the mix has cured. Traffic control barricades, signs, and markers shall be removed from the project site after opening the area to traffic. -The City of Shawano requires that the project be completed prior to September 13,2024
