Renovation of a multi-residential development in Millbury, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
The Millbury Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from electrical Contractors for the Fire Alarm Upgrades Project at the Memorial Drive homes, Linden Apartments, and Colonial Drive Congregate Home for the Millbury Housing Authority in Millbury Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by Nangle Engineering Inc. The Project consists of: Replace existing smoke alarms with new and add smoke alarms at the Memorial Drive development, and replace the fire alarm systems with fully addressable systems at Linden Apartments development and Colonial Drive Congregate Home, including abatement and disposal of asbestos containing building materials at Linden Apartments. The work is estimated to cost $334,236.00. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 544A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L c. 149 5526 to 27H inclusive. General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the category of Electrical. PROJECT ADDRESSES: 2 thru 36 Memorial Drive; Linden Apartments - 2 Pearl Street; Colonial Drive Building #10 Millbury, MA 01527 General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), and made payable to the Millbury Housing Authority. General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women business enterprises as certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO), formerly known as SOMWBA. The combined participation benchmark reserved for such enterprises shall not be less than 13% of the final contract price including accepted alternates. Request for waivers must be sent to DHCD (david.mcclave@mass.gov) 5 calendar days prior to the General Bid date. NO WAIVERS WILL BE GRANTED AFTER THE GENERAL BIDS ARE OPENED. General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women business enterprises as certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO), formerly known as SOMWBA. The combined participation benchmark reserved for such enterprises shall not be less than 13% of the final contract price including accepted alternates. Request for waivers must be sent to DHCD (david.mcclave@mass.gov) 5 calendar days prior to the General Bid date. No Waivers Will Be Granted After The General Bids Are Opened. The observation will then continue to Linden Apartments, and Colonial Drive. The observation is an opportunity to visit and observe the site only. Any oral interpretations offered at the site inspection are non-binding. Any questions must be submitted in writing to the Designer, at the e-mail address above, and on the Project Manual cover, no later than 4:00 PM on the Friday prior to the date stated above for the receipt of bids. Questions after that time may not be responded to, at the sole discretion of the designer.
