Contractor will remove the existing HVAC ceiling units wiring that is connected to the existing breakers in the electrical room and connect the new mini split units if possible. It the sole responsibly of the contractor to do all that needed for the full and correct installation of all the new Mitsubishi or equal mini split units on all the (3) floors. 3 Contractor will include additional heads/cassettes on 1st floor in the existing front/lobby and rear hallways from Toddler rooms (A, C & D) and also kitchen/storage area as part of their installation. 4 Contractor will include additional heads/cassettes on 2nd floor in the existing hallways, kitchen & elevator areas from rooms (A, B or C, D) also as part of their installation All bidders are required to participate in the scheduled site visit of the property located at - 368 Newfield Ave., Bridgeport, CT for a tour of the areas and to make themselves familiar with the conditions at the site and to determine the scope of the job, as no allowances will be made for errors in judgment or omissions. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to be sufficiently familiar with the site. This contract is subject to utilization goals and requirements for participation of certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBE). The utilization requirement for certified African American Owned Business Enterprises is 6% of the total contract sum. The overall utilization goal for Minority-Owned Business Enterprises is 15% and for Women-Owned Business Enterprises is 15%. Include with the submitted bid, a ten (10%) percent bid bond or a certified check made payable to the City of Bridgeport with its bid submission if the bid is $50,000.00 or more, except for bids from MBE's, for which a bid bond is required on bids that are $100,000 or more. The successful bidder, prior to permission to proceed, will be required to post a payment bond of 100% of the contract price if the contract price is in excess of $100,000, and a performance bond for 100% of the contract price, if the bid is $50,000.00, or more except that performance bondsfrom MBE's will only be required on projects that are $100,000.00 or more. THE MBE CERTIFICATION SHALL BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF BID OR NO EXEMPTION FROM THE BID BOND REQUIREMENT SHALL BE PERMITTED.
