Site work and new construction of a power facility in Burnaby, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a power facility.
Burnaby DES Integrated Project Delivery ("IPD") project. TIMELINE: Request for Proposal from professional, qualified, and experienced firms to select a team including the Prime Consultant(s) and IPD facilitator for the Burnaby DES Integrated Project Delivery ("IPD") project has closed. A preferred proponent has yet to be identified. The Proponent will bring IPD expertise and complete understanding of IPD and lean methods to assist the City of Burnaby ("City") through the various phases of the project. It is the intent of City of Burnaby that once a successful proponent is selected, the Prime Consultants, the General contractor, consultant (s), and key trades will enter into an integrated project delivery contract based on the CCDC 30 form as modified by the Supplementary Conditions. Project may go to council in Q4 2025 to request approval to proceed with project preliminary design and cost estimation. Further update in late fall 2025. *The base target cost will be set after the entire IPD Team completes the Validation Phase. However the owner has estimated a maximum project budget for Phase 1 at 200 million.
