Fire Service Water Line Repair for Alameda County PURPOSE The Department of Rehabilitation’s (DOR) Orientation Center for the Blind (OCB) facility is located at 400 Adams Street, Albany, CA 94706. OCB is approximately 42,000 square feet of buildings, consisting of (3) three buildings. The buildings are comprised of Building (A) Resident Dormitory2 floors; Building (B) Administration Building and Classrooms; and Building (C) Dining Hall/Cafeteria, Conference Center and Gymnasium. The sprinkler fire suppression system is in Building B. The water line to a Post Indicator Valve (PIV) and sprinkler system has identified leaks in the pipe. When the Contract Sum exceeds twenty five thousand dollars ($25,000), Contractor shall furnish, in duplicate, a Payment Bond, to accompany the Contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum securing payment for laborers, mechanics, and material suppliers used on the Work under the Contract. Payment Bonds shall be prepared on a Payment Bond to Accompany Construction Contract (STD. 807) as furnished by State. *As of May 24, 2024 project was not awarded. ** When the Contract Sum exceeds ten thousand dollars ($10,000) and progress payments will be made, Contractor shall furnish, in duplicate, a Performance Bond, to accompany the Contract, in the amount equal to at least one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum guaranteeing faithful performance of the Work. Performance Bonds may be prepared on standard bonding company forms. Payment and Performance Bonds shall be issued by a corporate surety authorized to transact a general surety business in the State of California. Contractor shall deliver its required bonds before the date of execution of the Contract. The bonds must remain in full force and effect for the entire length of time Contractor is involved with the Contract and shall include any warranty periods. The State reserves the right to reject all bids. The agency is not required to award an Agreement. Right to Terminate A. The State reserves the right to terminate this Agreement subject to 30 days written notice to the Contractor. Contractor may submit a written request to terminate this Agreement only if the State should substantially fail to perform its responsibilities as provided herein.
