Engineers Base Bid Estimate: $650,000 Begin Project Date: May 1, 2024 Project Completion Date: August 11, 2024 The work included in this project generally includes installation of 12" ductile iron water main, line valves, new hydrant assemblies and water service connections on Glenwood Drive. All proposed work shall meet all City, EPA and CWD requirements and ordinances of which the Contractor must become familiar with. Various improvements shown on plans are approximate only which the contractor shall verify location and elevation before installing. Contractor shall use all available resources in protecting and supporting the existing storm sewer, water line and utility poles at all times, especially during excavation. Stationing and locations shown on the improvement plans are approximate. Most locations and items are called out by station and offset and are subject to adjustment in the field. Allows zero unit prices and labor Yes Allows negative unit prices and labor No Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, OPWC project: the Governor's Executive Order of 1972, and the Governor's Executive Order 84-9 shall be required. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Summit County and the City of Twinsburg, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Bureau of Wage and Hour Administration, 614.644.2239. The right is reserved by the City of Twinsburg to reject any and all bids. Construction work begins on May 1, 2024 and must be completed by August 11, 2024. The City may also schedule a Pre-Award meeting with the Contractor who submitted the lowest/best bid to review and discuss all aspects of the project, prior to City Council awarding. All work performed throughout the project shall be resident & business friendly and the construction area shall be maintained in a clean and orderly manner. Contractor shall monitor his daily/weekly operations to prevent unnecessary inconveniences and hardships to the residents and the traveling public. Safe and sufficient driveway access to residents along with safe and clean road conditions are of the highest priority. Construction vehicles are prohibited in using residential driveways and parking lots to park in without written authorization. The City will not allow mud or construction debris to accumulate or to be tracked on the surface of the pavement on adjoining streets. In addition to the standard performance bond enclosed, a two-year maintenance bond, in the amount of 10% of this contract, shall be required of the successful bidder. The two-year term of this guarantee shall begin on the date of final acceptance of this improvement and shall guarantee that this improvement will remain in good condition for and during the entire period of guarantee. If at any time before or during said period of guarantee any defects or omissions become apparent in the work or if it becomes apparent that any of the work is not in accordance with the requirements, or that outstanding Punch List items are not corrected within thirty calendar days after City acceptance of project, or if any work constructed under this contract requires repairs due to defects in materials or workmanship, or for any other cause which may be attributed to the work which is being done or has been done by the Contractor, the City will send written notification, stating all unresolved issues, to the contractor's bonding company and the contractor. Should the contractor not begin making a diligent effort in correcting all defects after seven calendar days have expired, the City will begin making said corrections as soon as possible at the expense of the Contractor and/or Bonding Company. Performance Bond and Payment Bond: The successful bidder must within ten (10) days after he has received notice of the award to him and before entering into contract, furnish bonds on the enclosed forms and as approved by the City in amounts equal to the estimated cost of construction.
