The project consists of grinding out existing STOP legends and limit lines as well as STOP AHEAD legends and replacing them with new reflective thermoplastic striping and markings. For pre-bid information contact: Telephone: Facsimile: Development services Department (530) 822-7400 (530) 822-7109 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The work to be performed under this contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and services necessary for the FY2023-24 County Striping Project. The project consists of grinding out existing STOP legends and limit lines as well as STOP AHEAD legends and replacing them with new reflective thermoplastic striping and markings. The locations are shown on the Sign Location Maps along with the Sign Location Lists for the project. Complete the work within 80 working days. Liquidated Damages for this project are based on Section 8-1.10A of the Caltrans Standard Specifications dated 2022. No pre-bid meeting is scheduled for this project. The work shall be done in accordance with the Standard Plans 2022 and Standard Specifications 2022, of the California Department of Transportation and in accordance with the Special Provisions. ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: $300,000 TO $1,000,0000 Each Bid must be submitted on the bid forms provided in the Contract Documents. The bid must be submitted and received by the County Clerk of the Board not later than the time and date prescribed. Each Bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked on the outside with the name of the project and the envelope should bear on the outside the name of the Bidder and his address. Each Bid must be accompanied by security in the form of a bid bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check, or cashier's check payable to the County of Sutter, or cash for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate sum of the bid. The successful bidder shall be required to execute a Material and Labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, in conformance with the requirements set forth in the contract documents, each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Pursuant to California Contract Code Section 22300, the Contractor may, at its own expense, substitute securities for any money being withheld by the County to ensure performance under this contract. The proposed bond forms are included in the Bid Book LICENSING REQUIREMENTS FOR BIDDERS/CONTRACTORS In accordance with the provisions of California Business and Professions Code, Section 7028, the Contractor must have a Class "A" license or other appropriate license classification or a combination of license classifications that constitute a majority of the work. Comply with section 3-1.06. Failure to possess the specified license(s) shall render the Bid as non-responsive, shall act as a bar to award of the contract to any Bidder not possessing said license(s) at the time of Bid opening and shall result in the forfeiture of the security of said Bidder. Furthermore, any Bidder or Contractor not so licensed shall be subject to all legal penalties imposed by law, including, but not limited to, any appropriate disciplinary action by the Contractor's License Board.
