The City of Emporia is preparing to carry out interior and exterior improvements to approximately 15 residential units in the South Main Street Neighborhood Project through the use of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). The South Main Street neighborhood is bounded by Shiloh Baptist Church and Briggs Street to the North, Williamston Street to the east, Harrje Street to the south, and the Norfolk Southern Railway line to the west.
