Renovation of a water / sewer project in Huntsville, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

Unless otherwise indicated, the selected respondent shall provide all necessary materials, equipment, tools, and labor needed to provide a turnkey installation of a passive capacitor system to provide lightning protection for the area identified in Attachment 2 - Lightning Protection Coverage Area. The Palm Street Water Plant, located on Palm Street in Huntsville, Texas, has experienced several lightning strikes over the past two years, causing damage to trees and equipment. This area has several elevated structures, including a Hydrapiller, approximately 118' high; a radio tower, approximately 140' high; and an elevated storage tank, approximately 158' high. All work not specified, but which is necessary for the completion and/or functioning and operation of the project, shall be understood and implied as part of the contract to be performed for the contract price. Such work shall be executed by the respondent in the same manner and with the same character of material as other portions of the contract without extra compensation. A bid bond made payable to the City of Huntsville, Texas in an amount of 5% of the bid submitted must accompany each proposal as a guarantee that if awarded the contract, the respondent will enter into a contract and execute such bonds as required within ten (10) calendar days of ward of contract by City Council. The total project must be completed in no more than ninety (90) calendar days from the date of award - per written Notice or issuance of purchase order. The awarded firm will be accessed a one thousand dollar ($1,000.00) per calendar day for all non-completion of work beyond pre-approved number of calendar days from date of notice to proceed (non-completion of work includes removal of all equipment and materials from job site). This amount will be taken/reduced from the final invoice. All requested weather days must be submitted in writing to the City of Huntsville Public Works Director on the day of bad weather. A maximum of five (5) calendar days for requested weather delays will be allowed by the Public Works Director, any requested weather days beyond five calendar days may require City Manager approval. Every question or request for interpretation concerning the solicitation shall be directed to the Procurement Manager, Lucy Gonzalez, in writing via e-mail at lgonzalez@huntsvilletx.gov or sent via mail addressed to the Purchasing Department at 448 SH 75 North, Huntsville, Texas 77320. A written addendum will be issued as a response and will be posted on or before January 29, 2024 @ 5:00 P.M. on the City of Huntsville website, Public Purchase website and Electronic State Business Daily website. All addenda so issued shall become part of the contract documents, and receipt thereof shall be acknowledged in the space provided in the solicitation document. It is the responsibility of the respondent to verify all addenda and interpretations Installation and all specified work is to be completed within sixty (60) calendar days of issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
