The Lauridsen Skatepark parking lot project is for the construction of an approximately 7,000 SY parking lot with associated access drive, bioretention cell, and permeable pavers. An art plaza area is to be constructed. Modifications to the existing Riverwalk Dog Park fencing and proposed dog park fence installation are included in this project. Associated traffic control, storm water pipe & structures, erosion control and landscaping are also included in this project. All work under the Contract must be substantially complete on or before September 13, 2024. The estimate range is $2-$2.51 million. The Polk County Conservation reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security, as defined in Section 468.35 of the Iowa Code in the amount equal to 5% percent of the total amount of the bid. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. If the bidder fails to execute the contract and to furnish an acceptable performance, payment, and maintenance bond or provide a Certificate of Insurance within ten (10) days after acceptance of the bid by the City, the bid security may be forfeited or cashed by the City as liquidated damages. Preference shall be given to domestic construction materials by the contractor, subcontractors, material, workforce, and suppliers in performance of the contract by virtue of statutory authority, further preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes.
