Liquidated Damages $1,000 per section per day The City of Bakersfield is requesting bids from experienced and reputable contractors for providing a Contract for Construction of HUD-funded Curb, Gutter & Sidewalk/East Truxtun Area. Award, if any, resulting from this Invitation to Bid shall be for a one (1) year period. Inquiries regarding further information about the project should be directed to Olimpia Frederick, Interim Purchasing Officer at 661-326-3914. Inquiries regarding directions to the office of the Purchasing Officer may be directed to the Mr. Edwin Bonilla at 661-326-3746. A Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bidder's Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the City of Bakersfield, shall accompany each bid. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish the City with a Performance Bond and Labor and Materials (Payment) Bond based on 100% of the amount bid. Any bonds required by these specifications will neither be accepted nor approved by the City unless the bonds are underwritten by a California admitted surety. The right is reserved by the City of Bakersfield to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities not affected by law in any bids received, to evaluate in its absolute discretion, the bids submitted and to award the contract according to the proposal which best serves the interests of the City
