The Housing Authority of the County of Kern hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any Contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religious creed, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award. All bidders will be required to comply with the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) requirements as set\forth in the Bid Documents. The Housing Authority of the County of Kern reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. No contractor or subcontractor may work on a public works project unless registered with DIR. All Contractors/Subcontractors will be responsible for submitting electronic certified payroll reports directly to the Labor Commissioner (Division of Labor Standards Enforcement) including original certified payroll reports to Housing Authority of the County of Kern on a monthly basis. The time for completion of the contract is ninety (90) consecutive calendar days. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified in the contract, or any extension of this contract, the Contractor shall pay to the Owner as liquidated damages, the sum of $500.00 for each day of delay until certificate of occupancy is issued.
