The City of Havre de Grace, is seeking proposals from qualified construction firms to provide construction services for improvements to the City's Visitor Center. The facility, located at 450 Pennington Avenue, Havre de Grace MD 21078 requires renovation and improvements in order to better serve the public and staff. This is a grant funded project through the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority ("MHAA"). Question Due Date and Time: January 31, 2024, Questions must be emailed to the Procurement Officer, Michele Widman at michelew@havredegracemd.com Insurance Requirements: Construction Insurance with Installation Floater To meet the goals of the project, the existing Visitor Center building will be renovated to receive a complete interior redesign, which may include interior walls (offices) and ceiling removal to facilitate a public restroom facility to be added in the rear of the building. This project will take a "design-build" approach. The contractor does not have to be an architect; however, the contractor must be able to provide conceptual designs to the City for review, editing and approval. The City intends to enter into a service contract for the proposed project term. Compensation for the services rendered will be based upon a fixed-price contract. Selection of the Contractor is expected to take place by mid-February 2024. The selected firm is expected to have all design work submitted for review and approval by early April 2024, and to begin actual construction no later than early summer 2024. The project must be fully complete by September 2024.
