The City of Memphis Encourages the Participation of Small and Minority Businesses in the Purchasing Process. Certification by Each Bidder Must Be Made With Respect to Nondiscrimination in Employment." No Objections With Regard to the Application, Meaning, or Interpretation of the Specifications Will Be Considered After the Opening of the Subject Bids. Unsigned Bids Will Be Considered Nonconforming. Bids Containing Terms and Conditions Other Than Those Contained Herein, May Be Considered Nonconforming. A Bid Bond is Required if Bid Amount is $100,000 or More. Award of Contracts Will Be Made on the Basis of the Lowest and Best Bids as Determined by the City of Memphis. This Procurement May Be Subject to the Requirements of Ordinance No. 5114 Which Establishes a Local Preference for Local Businesses Located Within the City of Memphis. A Copy of Your Memphis and Shelby County Tennessee Business Tax Receipt Must Accompany Your Bid for Consideration of This Ordinance. Any Protest of Award Must Be Filed in Writing With the Purchasing Agent Within Ten (10) Days of the Award Announcement. Only Bids Submitted on the Supplied Form(S) With No Changes, Additions, or Deletions to the Terms and Conditions Will Be Considered. All Bids Must Be Signed by an Authorized Representative of Your Firm. Project consists of: Project consists of the following scope of work: Demolition of paving/plaza (concrete & brick pavers), partial retaining wall removal, concrete removal within raised planter, tree removal, clearing & grubbing for the installation of a playground within an existing park (Pine Hill Park) that includes: tree removal, pedestrian light standards, and miscellaneous items. Project will require the contractor to remove/salvage and reinstall the Ida B. Wells Statue, Lynching Tree Artwork & Plaque. There will be new construction which includes: site grading, installation of a new segment of brick retaining/raised planter wall, raised planter subsurface drainage, concrete & color concrete paving, installation of brick pavers, pedestrian concrete seating, wayside exhibit bases and owner furnished signage, statue base & foundations and reinstallation of the bronze Ida B. Wells Statue. The project will also include landscaping, irrigation system, speciality site lighting, new signage, erosion control measures, tree protection fencing, construction and subsurface piping and sleeving. All demolition debris will be removed from the site and disposed of in a legal manner. A 100% stand of grass will be required prior to project completion being obtained. There are two bid alternates for this project. Requests for interpretation should solely be addressed to the Consultant either in writing or via telephone. No oral interpretation will be made to any bidder as to meaning of drawings and specifications. Requests for interpretation will be accepted up to ten (10) calendar days prior to date set for opening of bids
