The Project includes, but not limited to, the following Work: In the existing Filter Building at the wastewater treatment facility site: demolition and replacement of various process valves, associated actuators, piping appurtenances, pipe supports, pneumatic systems, painting and coating, and electrical work and allied systems, such as control stations, SCADA system improvements, and process instrumentation and control. The anticipated substantial completion date is December 31, 2024 and final completion date is March 31, 2025. No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the amount bid, payable to the Owner as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder as soon as the contract is signed, and if after 15 days the bidder shall fail to do so, the certified check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages. Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The work under this section shall cover: starting of systems; demonstration and instructions; testing, adjusting and balancing; operation and maintenance data; protecting installed and completed construction; final cleaning; manuals for materials and finishes; manual for equipment and systems; spare parts and maintenance products; product warranties, guarantees and bonds; project closeout procedures; and maintenance service. The Contractor shall assume the responsibility for the protection of all finished construction until accepted by the Owner. The Contractor shall repair and restore any and all damage to finished work to the satisfaction of the Engineer. The Contractor shall require each trade to clean the premises of accumulations of surplus materials and rubbish caused by their activities. Burning of rubbish on site will not be permitted.
