Small Business Reserve Designation : Yes MDOT/State Highway Administration is soliciting bids for a qualified HVAC contractor to perform a heat pump system replacement at the Pocomoke Visitors center in Worcester County, MD. It is estimated that this contract will begin in February 2024. Work to be performed will be replacement of two split HVAC heat pump systems at the Pocomoke Maryland Welcome Center located on Northbound US 13 north of the MD/VA state line. The goal of this contract is to remove and replace two existing split HVAC systems within the manufacturer's prescribed specifications and HVAC best practices. This is an in-kind replacement with modern, more efficient, equipment as specified below. SHA expects this contract to begin in February and installation to be completed within 8 weeks of award (pending lead time from suppliers). The contract with the successful bidder will be written not to exceed the low bid amount that is under $50,000.00 Remove, evacuate, dispose of the two existing heat pump units in accordance with EPA and State of MD requirements. New line sets will be run through the exterior wall. All Penetrations shall be sealed and flashed, according to industry best practices. Dispose of all debris daily, keep worksite clean and safe for other workers and visitors in the building. Work shall be performed between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
