The Project will entail the abatement of a nuisance at 842 Colona Road, Pocomoke City, Maryland, to include the following: a. Removal of household trash and debris within the area delineated on the attached aerial exhibit. b. Removal of overgrown grass, weeds and other rank vegetation exceeding one foot on the subject property. c. Retention of all existing trees within the delineated work area. d. Coordinate the protection of all utilities that serve the structure, including electric, phone, internet and cable television by the appropriate utility company. Secure and maintain an updated Miss Utility ticket. e. Septic serving this property is an elevated system with adjacent reserve area, pump station, distribution box, and tank. All features shall be clearly marked in the field and protected prior to any work commencing. No heavy equipment (track loaders, backhoes, etc.) shall traffic through or impact these areas. Confirmation that the areas are properly located shall be obtained from the Department of Environmental Programs prior to the issuance of a Notice to Proceed. f. Restoration of the site. i. Backfill any excavated and below exterior grade area because of the debris removal. ii. Provide and place clean AASHTO A-2-4 backfill material as required to level site. iii. Areas damaged and disturbed shall be re-seeded with appropriate ground cover and covered with straw. Backfill shall be stabilized. g. The Contractor shall supply sanitary facilities for site use by workers. All facilities shall be maintained and comply with local State health standards. 3. All work must be completed within 60 days of issuance of Notice to Proceed. The last day for questions will be noon on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 Questions must be addressed in writing to the Worcester County Procurement Officer at nrice@co.worcester.md.us. Bid Documents must be accompanied by a Bid Bond if the Vendor's total Bid amount exceeds $100,000, payable to the County for five percent of the total amount of the bid. After the analysis of the Bid Documents the County will return Bid Bonds to all Vendors except the three lowest Responsive and Responsible Vendors. After execution of the Contract, and receipt, execution, and approval of the Successful Vendor's Payment and Performance bond, the Bid Bonds will be returned. A certified check may be used in lieu of a Bid Bond The Successful Vendor will be required to provide the County with a Performance Bond and Payment Bond if the total Contract amount exceeds $100,000, each in the amount of one hundred percent of the Contract Price, with a corporate surety approved by the County for the faithful performance of the Contract.
