Sealed bids will be received for the purpose of considering the award of a contract for the Collection, Removal and Disposal of all solid waste from all collection areas in the Fair Harbor Garbage Collection District for the 2024 through 2026 collection period with a single, one year extension option exercisable at the Town's sole discretion. The contract will be awarded as soon thereafter as practical. For disability assistance to attend the pre-bid meeting and/or bid opening, please contact Constituent Services at 224-5380 or 224-5397 (TDD) to arrange for a sign language interpreter, auxiliary aids, or further special conditions. Each bid must be submitted on the official forms furnished by the Town. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or acceptable bid bond in a sum equal to ten percent (10%) of the three (3) year bid total made payable to the "Supervisor, Town of Islip." The failure or refusal to execute the contract and deliver the required bonds and insurance certificates, within thirty (30) days after the date of notice of acceptance of the bid, as detailed in the bid documents, shall constitute a breach of the agreement and the Town of Islip may, at its option, proceed against the bid bond or take such other action as may be deemed in the Town's best interest. The Town Board reserves the right to reject any or all . bids in whole or in part, to waive any formality and/or informalities in any or all bids. All bids shall be firm for a period ofone hundred eighty (180) days after the opening date.
