Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking bids for the complete replacement and installation of a Split system air conditioning system at the North Houston Rosslyn office in Houston, TX. Project Address: 11222 N. Houston Rosslyn Rd. Houston, TX 77088 The Contract Administrator for administration of this Contract is Ashley Reed, 512-424-5990. - ashley.reed@dps.texas.gov 01/24/24 5:00PM, CST Last day to submit written questions for clarification to DPS 01/25/24 5:00PM, CST Estimated date for DPS to post Question and Answer (Q&A) document to ESBD 1. Contractor will provide all labor, materials, and any needed rental equipment to remove and dispose of the existing units #1, #2, #4, and #5 as defined by drawing M101 Redlines. Unit #3 will remain. 2. Contractor will provide and install: o (Four) 4 heat pump split system units per the attached specification Section 23 81 26 - DX Split System Air Conditioners. o The air handlers are mounted horizontally above a drop ceiling. o The new condensing units will be placed in the same footprints occupied by the existing units with new concrete slabs as defined in the specification. o (Fourteen) 14 supply grilles, and (Four) 4 return grilles according to drawing M101 Redlines and Section 23 30 13 - Ductwork and Ductwork Accessories for systems #4, and #5. o (Five) 5 Digital programmable thermostats. Retrofit Unit #3 to the same thermostat as the other four. o Hardware o Insulation o Any other miscellaneous materials needed for fully functional systems 3. The power for this project is 208/230 single phase for the air handlers and 460 three phase for the condensing units. o The contractor will provide and install new disconnects and whips to each unit o The contractor is to verify all conduit will be of sufficient size to comply with National Electric Code (NEC) standard for the size wire needed to comply with the Minimum Circuit Ampacity (MCA) of the new units o The contractor will be responsible for all the line voltage electrical wiring from the distribution panel to the local disconnect switch and to the unit. Including any needed breakers. o All low voltage control wiring will be replaced. o All conduit to be supported in accordance with the NEC. 4. Contractor will connect the cooling coil drains with 7/8" O.D. type "L" copper pipe. 5. Contractor will replace all refrigerant piping with new type L hard copper tubing sized per the manufacturer's specification suitable to the equipment used. 6. Contractor will provide supply and return grilles as shown on drawing M101 Redlines 7. Contractor will provide start-up, warranty on materials & labor. 8. Contractor will clean all existing supply and return grilles with appropriate disinfectant cleaner to remove all dirt and debris. 9. Contractor will provide an independent certified Test and Balance Company to perform a NEBB or AABC certified test of the systems. See specification for requirements. Provide this report to DPS for approval.
